Use mantra throughout your day to stay focused, nurture your Self and re-energise!
✨ Why should we use them in daily life? And how do they make a difference?
Adding mantra into our daily routine can be a great part of building our essential tool kit of self care tools. There are many reasons why I recommend it to be an essential way of tuning in.
✅ Using mantra does not take much time or effort… No excuse! As with many self care routines, the common barrier that most people create is the idea that you need endless amounts of time and effort to develop self care practices in our real lives. Not true for this.
✅ Mantras can be used in almost any setting. You don’t need to be a specific place or location to use mantra. It’s great if you could bring them into your yoga routine or at your alter – but it can just as easily be part of your morning coffee or your lunch break at work. During your daily routines, fill any small spaces with a minute of mantra – If you can’t chant it out loud, you can also say them in your head as you connect with your breath… no one would even know!
✅ There are hundreds of mantas to choose from. There are mantas for every occasion so there is plenty of room to try as many as you like, explore and have fun with them. You won’t get bored and many possibilities can bring many beautiful results.
✅ Mantras remind us that we are deeply connected. Today’s modern lifestyles has become busy, hectic and detached from the concept of connection in many ways. Mantra is a simple way of tuning right back into nature – The nature that we are part of and our own soul-full nature, through our body. Mantra can ground us and help us explore our Self on. deeper level. Mantra is also a channel for creative energy.
✅ Make it part of your journal practice. If you love journalling (like me), using mantra is a wonderful tool to try out and track through writing. Pick 1 or 2 mantras to use for a 7-day period (or more) and journal your experiences as you get familiar with them.

🗝 The inner sound current, the Naad – the essence of all sound. “Man” means mind and “tra” means wave, Mantra is that which controls the waves of the mind. Mantras can help us form a projection of the mind, which in turn effects our entire being from our thoughts, to our body’s function, to how we relate with ourselves and the world. It anchors us into our heart space.
🗝 Mantra taps into our meridian energy system. The science of this is fascinating… Did you know that are 84 meridian points on the roof of the mouth which the tongue stimulates those meridian points? Yes, Naad Yoga is based on the experience of how sound vibrations affect the body, mind, and spirit through the movement of the tongue – The effect is that they in turn stimulate the hypothalamus which makes the pineal gland radiate. When the pineal gland radiates, it creates an impulse in the pituitary gland. When the pituitary gland gives impulses, the entire glandular system secretes and a human being obtains bliss. It truly does seep into our mind-body-soul.

✨ Here are 5 mantras I love…
Sat Nam – Truth is my Identity
This is a common mantra you will hear as a greeting and during kundalini yoga classes. This mantra is a beautiful affirmatrion of connecting to our Self – “Sat” means truth and “Nam” means name and identity. We use this to reinforce our connection and reflection in others. This is a mantra you can start with as a beginner.
A simple way to use this any time during the day is to focus on your breath and start inhaling/exhaling deeper – Feel your belly expand as you inhale deeper and mentally chant SAT… As you exhale deeply and feel your belly contract, mentally chant NAM. This will give you a point of focus as you enjoy being fully present with your breath. I invite you to try this at random times during the day for as long (or as short) a time as you like. If you are a beginner, place one of the palms of your hands on your lower belly as you breath so you can physically enjoy the movement of your body with this mantra.
Ad Guray Namey – A loving protection mantra
This mantra is also known as the Mangala Charan Mantra. It can be used during the times where we feel we need some support from our inner doubts and fears. This mantra also opens us to guidance and protection.
As an empath and HSP, we often get challenged with the need for protecting our Self, from external energy and emotions that we can so easily soak up. For this reason, this is the mantra I highly recommend and use during those moments when I want to create a loving shield around me. When you feel overwhelmed and want to shut down your own energy as a protection, use this mantra instead as it offers a healthy boundary to hold space for our Self. I also chant (out loud or mentally) this mantra when I about to travel – As a life-long travel addict, I always use this mantra when I hop on a train or plane to start a long journey.
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung – A healing mantra
Ra = Sun
Ma = Moon
Da = Earth
Sa = Impersonal Infinity
Sa Say = Totality of Infinity
So = Personal sense of merger and identity
Hung = The infinite, vibrating and real
This mantra is very soothing and healing – It stimulates the kundalini energy for activates the neutral mind. We have 3 minds… the positive, the negative and the neutral mind. When we are at peace and feel balanced, we work with our neutral mind, also known as the meditative mind. To learn more about these minds, listen to this.
During times where you need healing, when your heart space is feeling tender and/or you want a deeper insight into something that you are reflecting on – this is a mantra to use!

Aham Prema – I Am Divine Love
“I am divine love
I am that which I seek
I radiate beautifully perfect love.
I am that love.”
An affirmation of your own Divine love energy within! This mantra is powerful for manifesting and holding space for transformation in our life. I love this mantra with law of attraction because it sets the energy to be a loving and inviting space for new things to come as we work on our goals.
Try chanting this mantra 108 times, for 40 days. If you want to see transformation unfold and shift your energy radically, I invite you to try this meditation. Sa Ta Na Ma – Awaken your intuition
Sa = Infinity, totality of the Cosmos.
Ta = Life (birth of form from the Infinity.)
Na = death (or transformation.)
Ma = Rebirth.
This mantra describes the continuous cycle of life and creation. This mantra is a great catalyst for change and gives us a gateway into intuition. It promotes peace, concentration and a deeper sense of understanding in any situation.
The Sa Ta Na Ma meditation is a strong meditation practice – It is also known as the Kirtan Kriya in kundalini yoga. This meditation may bring mental balance and clarity. It can clear the subconscious mind of heavy emotions and trauma. The Kirtan Kriya not only heals the subconscious but helps us discover the divine nature of all beings.
Use this as a walking meditation – When I am walking and want to bring my full presence into my body, breath and the surroundings, I use this mantra while I walk. When we have a busy mind, this feels great to do as a grounding practice. Click Here!
